I’ve enjoyed writing since I learned to write, and learning and writing are what I do most, but I’m always an aspiring writer. I write for the pleasure and duty of communicating. My writing is sharply influenced by my Christian Lutheran, ethical, musical, and academic background, as well as by my dedication to languages, travel, photography, internationalism, climate action, and sustainable development. Sometimes naïve, sometimes acerbic, I’m consistently nostalgic and pensive. 

I’m an economist and lawyer with a specialization in environmental law and a master’s degree in international law. From Pelotas via Porto Alegre (Brazil) to New York, where I have lived since 2020 and work as a researcher at Columbia University.

The English content here includes my resume and portfolio. On August 8, 2010, my first anniversary as a New Yorker, with the authority of “just another New Yorker with an accent,” I started a blog with an accent.
